Ms. Jodi Lieberman was a mid-career Congressional Fellow working in Congressman Joseph Crowley's office and was asked to explore establishing a bipartisan Congressional Bangladesh Caucus. Little did anyone expect this to materialize so quickly and expand so rapidly.
With dedication and energy, Jodi worked very closely with BAFI and Congressional offices to turn a dream into a reality. As Congressman Crowley told a group of Bangladeshi-Americans in 2001, "You have the Caucus because of her". The Congressional Fellow was Ms. Jodi Lieberman. She is no longer in the Capitol Hill but still remains a friend of Bangladeshi-Americans. The Caucus had reached a membership of sixteen after seven months and is now 29 member strong.
