The purposes for this event were to recognize Bangladeshi-Americans who have made significant contributions, to award one American for his/her contributions to US-Bangladesh relations, and to introduce Bangladesh centric NGOs to the wider community.

The program included separate adult and children entertainments including a two hour live concert by famous South Asian singer Alamgir and magic show by Mano Mandal, workshops, Meena Bazaar, and catered dinner.
